David

I'm David.

I've been using Trade Ideas for about 7 years. I use it for intraday and swing trades, mostly around momentum and mean reversion. A lot of what I do is finding clean bps/bcs style conditions and then tightening the noise until the window is actually usable.

On the automation side:

  • NinjaTrader: about 5 years of intraday futures automation (ES / NQ / GC)
  • Python: started last year building machine-learning style systems for swing trades (US equities) and some forex research

AlphaStrat exists for one reason:

Stop chasing random tickers. Build a Trade Ideas workflow you can repeat every morning.

Why I built this site

Trade Ideas is powerful, but it's easy to use it the wrong way:

  • you open a bunch of windows
  • you stack filters forever
  • you get flooded with alerts
  • you stop trusting what you're seeing

Then you either quit, or you keep paying for a tool you're not actually using.

This site is how I wish the platform was taught when I started: clear steps, clean windows, repeatable workflow. The goal is not hype. The goal is: find stocks in play faster, cut the noise, and trade with more structure.

How I actually use Trade Ideas

I think about Trade Ideas like a pipeline:

  1. Lane - define what you trade (price, liquidity, float, session, etc.)
  2. Rank - build a list that surfaces the best first
  3. Alert - get notified only when something matters
  4. Review - tighten weekly so it gets better over time

Most people skip step 1. That's why they get random tickers and endless noise.

What you'll find here

Not a feature tour. A workflow.

Tools I work with (and why)

  • Trade Ideas: scanning + alerts + OddsMaker, and building windows that don't explode with noise.
  • NinjaTrader: execution and automation for intraday futures. This is where the "does it actually place trades correctly" work happens.
  • Python: custom tooling and research systems. I use it to reduce manual work and test ideas without guessing.

I'm not obsessed with complexity. I'm obsessed with removing friction.

What I don't do

  • performance promises
  • "one magic scan" hype
  • guru fluff

This is education and process. Not investment advice.
