Start here¶
If you're here because Trade Ideas looks powerful but you're thinking "where do I even start?" - perfect.
This site is built around one idea: stop clicking random windows and build a workflow you can repeat.
First, pick your situation¶
Type 1: New to Trade Ideas
You want: "what do I click?" and "what should I build first?"
Type 2: I have Trade Ideas but it's noisy
You want: "reduce noise", "stop random tickers", and "build a lane".
Quick start (15 minutes)¶
If you do nothing else today, do this:
- Read: First time in Trade Ideas
- Build: Top List Window (Gap List)
- Tighten: Alert Window tips (reduce noise)
That's enough to get you out of "random scanning" mode.

Beginner path: new to Trade Ideas¶
Goal: build one scanner you understand and can reuse daily.
Step 1 - get oriented: learn the basic windows and stop poking around randomly.
Step 2 - build your first daily list: a ranked gap list you can triage quickly.
Step 3 - turn it into something usable: reduce noise so you can actually act on what you see.
Noise-reduction path: overwhelmed¶
If Trade Ideas feels like it's just throwing tickers at you, that's not "the market". That's your workflow.
Here's how you fix it:
Step 1 - build a lane: decide what kind of stocks you trade and filter hard.
Step 2 - use Symbol Lists as quality control: stop recycling the same trash tickers.
Step 3 - timebox scanning: don't scan when you can't act (or you'll hate your alerts).
Advanced path (optional)¶
Only go here after you can build clean windows:
