Trade Ideas Cloud troubleshooting: save/share/load issues

Trade Ideas Cloud is one of the best quality-of-life features — until it’s not. This page is a fast checklist for the common failures you’ll hit when saving, sharing, or loading windows/layouts.

Quick triage: 3 questions

  1. Are you logged into the correct Trade Ideas account?
  2. Are you trying to load a window or an entire layout?
  3. Are you importing a Cloud link or a Collaboration link?

If you answer those wrong, everything downstream feels broken.

Trade Ideas: File → Save or Share to Cloud

Problem: “My window isn’t in the cloud list”

Checklist: - Confirm you saved it (not just configured it). - Try saving again via FileSave or Share to Cloud.... - Make sure you didn’t only save an “Entire Layout” when you meant a single window (or vice versa).

Problem: “Load from Cloud works, but it loads the wrong thing”

Common causes: - You loaded a layout when you meant a window. - You loaded an older version of the window (similar names).

Problem: “Collaboration URL didn’t apply (or it nuked my window)”

This is usually a misunderstanding of what Collaboration is designed to do.

Collaboration is great for copying a window’s filters into another window. It can replace filters/settings while preserving the target window’s identity (e.g., you keep the alert condition but replace the filter stack).

Problem: “I’m logged in but cloud is empty”

Checklist: - confirm the account (many traders have multiple logins) - confirm you’re not in a different environment (SIM vs LIVE is separate in Brokerage+, but Cloud is account-based) - restart Trade Ideas after an account/password change

Checklist: - paste the full URL string (don’t truncate) - try both Load from Cloud and the relevant window’s Collaborate... (they are not the same) - if it’s a shared link, confirm it wasn’t revoked/expired (if applicable)

Should I save a window or an entire layout?
