No alerts in Trade Ideas (why it happens + how to fix it)

Zero alerts is usually not a “Trade Ideas is broken” problem. It’s one of these: - filters are too tight - the time window is wrong - the alert condition rarely triggers in your lane - the day is just quiet

This page is a fast diagnosis checklist.

Step 1 — Confirm the time window (Time of Day)

If your Time of Day filter is wrong, you can literally filter out all alerts.

Checklist: - are you watching premarket vs regular hours? - does your window run during that session?

Step 2 — Loosen liquidity slightly

If your liquidity thresholds are high, some days you’ll get nothing.

Loosen: - Dollar Volume - Average Daily Volume

Then observe.

Step 3 — Widen the lane (price/float)

If your price range is too narrow, you may have excluded the entire day’s movers.

Widen the price range temporarily to test.

Step 4 — Verify the alert condition actually triggers

Some alerts are inherently rare.

If you’re learning: - start with a more common alert condition - then tighten later

See: Alert Window tutorial

Step 5 — Sanity check: is the market active?

Some days are quiet in your niche.

Do a quick check: - run a broader Top List (wider filters) - see if anything is moving at all

See: Top List tutorial

FAQ

Why am I getting zero alerts?

Most commonly because filters are too tight (liquidity/time/price) or the alert condition is rare in your lane. Loosen one thing at a time and re-test.

Should I remove all filters?

Not permanently. Remove filters temporarily to diagnose, then re-add the ones that clearly improve signal quality.
